ICE members visit Abberton Reservoir project

A group of Civil Engineers visited the ongoing works to that will allow the water level in Abberton Reservoir to be raised by 3 metres last week.  The project is being carried out by Carillion Civil Engineering for client Essex and Suffolk Water.  After an introduction to the project the group mounted up into two 4×4’s and toured the perimeter of the reservoir stopping briefly to view up close the works to the B1026 Causeway, the dam / swallow hole / valve tower, and the temporary and new offtake pump station.
