Whilst on a family day trip to London today I received the brilliant news that – along with 4,999 others – I will get to take part in the National Lottery Olympic Park Run on 31st March 2012 and cross the finish line on the 100m straight in the Olympic Stadium watched by 10,000 spectators – and before Mr Bolt does!!
Needless to say I am ecstatic. Like I tweeted earlier – I feel like I have found one of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets. For me, this is actually better than going to see the Olympic events themselves – for which I failed to get any tickets anyway.
Heck Yeah. Bring it on.
All I need to do now is think whether I should do the Brentwood Half Marathon the weekend before, and who take with me. The latter will be a bit of a problem as one of my 2 kids and wife is going to miss out and I’m not sure the 2 kids will be allowed to be there unaccompanied. I will talk to the organisers and hopefully there might be some flexibility – I’d happily pay for the 3rd person to go.
Heck Yeah (still bouncing about!)
