It was a sunny morning so after doing the dad taxi thing and dropping my girl off in town I wandered down to Southend seafront to take some photos. The tide was high (very), the sea was choppy, and the wind was blowing hard off the estuary. It was really rather nice and I spent a couple of hours photographing seabirds plus a couple of dutch kitesurfers.
The two young guys were taking it in turns to kitesurf up and down just off Jubilee Beach and I stayed a while to chat to them and to take some photos. If I understood correctly one of them was just starting a 3 month internship in London and the other guy had come over (to see him?) and so they could both pay their first visit to Southend to do some kitesurfing. They picked a great weekend too!
For their benefit mainly I have uploaded the majority of the photos I took (good and bad) and the link is provided below. All photos are low resolution and copyright. If you are reading this guys I will happily provide you with copyright free versions free of charge via a dropbox and any high resolution versions you might like – just email me at noynek99@gmail.com.
I’ve included below some of the better ones to give the casual reader an idea of what the guys were getting up to. All photos below open to bigger versions in new windows on click. Enjoy.
