I paid a visit to our Allerton Waste Recovery Project in North Yorkshire last week to see first hand the progress that is being made. The project is an EfW (Energy from Waste) plant with additionally a MT (Mechanical Treatment) facility and a bottom ash) handling facility.
The client for the project is AMEY and the EfW plant is being delivered by VINCI Environment UK. VEUK incorporates Taylor Woodrow – a division of Vinci Construction UK – who are delivering the civil works and Vinci Environment France who are delivering the process and M&E works. You can find out all about the facility on AMEY’s dedicated website at www.allerton-waste-recovery-park.co.uk. Via the website you can also view a live webcam image of the site from the camera mounted on the site offices.

Work is currently centered on the concrete works with elements of the steel frame starting soon. Early next year will see the process equipment installation commencing with remaining concrete works and steelwork installation continuing alongside.
