This Saturday was the 8th Annual Village Green music and arts festival in Chalkwell Park, Southend. Chalkwell Park is half a mile from our house and we have been for the last few years. This year I decided to sign up as a volunteer photographer and get closer to the action.
It was a great day and a great learning experience and when I can find the time I will write a bit more on the experience but for the meantime I will move on to the photos…
In all I took over 2,000 photos almost exclusively on my Nikon D750 full frame DSLR in RAW format. This almost filled a 64GB memory card! I went through the photos the minute I got home and had uploaded my best 25 to the organisers dropbox by 1.30am.
This morning I went through again and picked out my faves for an event album for me and I came up with 185. These vary from performance shots to crowd shots plus a variety of others. I was really happy with the set I ended up with and I think they are on a par with those taken by the professionals in our group.
The full set are on in a Facebook album and a Google Photos album. I prefer those on Google but Facebook has its pro’s too.
All the photos are copyright to me. I will overlook occasional social media use to so as I am credited as the snapper. No other use is permitted without my express permission.
Included below are a selection of my faves from the 185 set. Enjoy.
